A resident of Colorado since childhood, Julie graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder in 2001 and received her Bachelor of Art’s degree in history from Colorado College in 2005. Julie went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 2009. Shortly thereafter, Julie returned to Colorado, where she received her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2012.
After law school, Julie clerked for the Colorado Court of Appeals. Julie has practiced in the areas of immigration, workers’ compensation, domestic relations, trust and estates, probate, construction law, and appeals. In addition, she has worked as a parenting-time supervisor, and is trained in both mediation and as a Child and Family Investigator (CFI). Julie is now the Managing Attorney for Estate Planning at Wayland Law, and she also focuses her practice on probate administration and appeals. She has a perfect appellate success rate.
For fun, Julie is a proud member and former president of The Law Club, which stages musical productions satirizing the practice of law while simultaneously providing attorneys in the audience with continuing legal education ethics credits. Come watch her sing with the Law Club every November for the Ethics Revue! In addition, Julie enjoys photography – she has worked as a wedding and family photographer – and researching her family tree.
